NOTE: Sugru's parent company, Tesa, has changed Sugru's online distribution model, so this is the last-ever local supply of Sugru in Australia!

My last remaining kits have a use-by date of APRIL 2023 (that's now!) but Sugru could last indefinitely if stored in your freezer (and thawed before use). I've discounted the price by 75% to reflect the official use-by date.

---

Sugru is an amazing mouldable silicone rubber that makes it fun and easy to repair shoes, zippers, electronics cables, ceramics and more.

I’ve been using Sugru since 2014 and always have a few packs handy in my fridge*. I love it and think you will, too!

The Fix & Create Kit contains:

  • 4 x 3.5g single-use packets of Sugru in four colours: black, white, grey and red
  • 1 x booklet with 12 projects, step-by-step instructions, inspiring stories and helpful tips and tricks. Learn how to repair ceramics, make jewellery, build rubber stamps and hang things without drilling. Plus, new techniques to deboss, texturise, design and upcycle.
  • 3 x repurposed tools (texturing thimble, texturing brush & Sugru remover)
  • 1 x Sugru tin for easy storage

(For more colours or to buy Sugru without all the bells and whistles, try Sugru multipacks.)

Sugru sticks permanently to glass, ceramic, wood, metal and most plastics but does not bond to oily plastics (like polypropylene, polyethylene, Teflon) and some powder-coated metals.

Once set, Sugru is waterproof, temperature-resistant up to 180°C (356°F) and down to -40°C (-40°F), durable, flexible, washing-machine safe, dishwasher-proof, shock-resistant, electrically insulating**, weatherproof and will hold up to 2kg/4.4lb in weight***.

I personally have used Sugru to:

  • patch holes and cracks in rubber thongs (flip-flops) and slipper soles
  • add new bumpers to the front of my toddler’s well-worn shoes
  • repair cracks in plastic laundry baskets
  • repair a frayed headphone cable
  • rebuild a broken zipper pull
  • replace the rubber on the roller of my shop tape wetter
  • add soft ‘feet’ to household objects with sharp, scratchy bottoms
  • repair the cork band on my KeepCup (fun fact: I was drinking from this cup when I met Sugru inventor Jane by surprise in 2018!)
  • fix a bunch of other things I can’t remember because I’ve been using Sugru for longer than I’ve been documenting my repairs

Most of my repairs have needed only a small amount of Sugru; my range is about 1-4 fixes per packet (with the odd repair requiring multiple packets). Once a packet is open, the curing process begins – it can’t be resealed and the unused portion saved for later. So I keep a list of things needing Sugru-ing and try to fix a few at the same time so I don’t waste any.

Colours: Sugru comes in 10 colours, and you can mix packets to make new colours, or swirl them together for a marbled effect.

Texture: For a fancy finish, smooth out your Sugru with your fingers and soapy water. Use masking tape for precise edges. Add texture with the tools and tips included in the Fix & Create kit, or go on a scavenger hunt at home and see what you can find – cake-decorating tools, chopsticks, pen tips, toothbrushes, etc. – and dip them in soapy water while you work to keep them from sticking to the Sugru. Once cured, you can carve and sand Sugru.

Curing time: Freshly opened Sugru is soft like play-dough and has a workable window of about 30 minutes. Sugru sets to 1.5mm in 12 hours, 3mm in 24 hours and longer for thicker applications. For load-bearing projects, or if Sugru's exposure to air is limited when squished between surfaces, allow up to 48 hours for it to fully set. Use Sugru at room temperature for the best results; colder temperatures slow down the setting times.

Oops: Use soapy water to smooth out your Sugru and keep your hands and tools clean. You can protect areas you don’t want bonded to Sugru with masking tape, cling wrap or petroleum jelly. If you change your mind, you can remove Sugru from non-porous surfaces by using a knife or scalpel. It may leave residue or stains on fabric, leather and walls.

Food safety: Sugru has not yet been tested for food safety, so it shouldn't be used in contact with food or drink. (Use it to reattach teapot handles but not cracks in your teacups.)

Real talk: Using Sugru is super-easy, but trying to make Sugru into art worthy of Instagram is a humbling experience. I am not a potter and my Sugru sculptures don’t usually match my ideas, but I often end up with happy surprises. If you can see past perfection and give in to the process, Sugru is fun and quick to use, with a 30-minute deadline built in so you literally cannot spend any more time on your project. Quick wins for the win!

Made in the UK from magic stuff (trade secrets), packed in single-use foil packets inside a cardstock box.

* For best results, store it in your fridge or freezer to extend the shelf life by up to 3 times.

**Be careful with electricity. Stick to small-consumer-electronics repairs, low current and below 24 volts.

***Depending on the thickness of the application, for load-bearing projects, allow up to 48 hours for Sugru to fully set.

Weekly dispatch

This shop dispatches orders once a week so I can do alllll the things – including running this shop and running after two tiny tots – and enjoy my life. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.

I have a new work and childcare schedule for 2024 and am still working out the best schedule for postal dispatches; please allow approximately one week from time of purchase while I figure it all out.

Shipping carrier

I ship via Australia Post because it’s reliable, trackable and carbon-neutral

If you select Express Post at checkout, it will speed up Australia Post's delivery timeframe but won't speed up my process.

After your order has been packed, you will receive an email notification with your Australia Post tracking number, which you can use to check on the delivery status of your order.

International customers: click here for current Australia Post international delivery timeframes.

Shipping fees

I don’t offer free shipping because there is no such thing as free shipping. Someone has to pay the cost for postage.

Shipping is currently a flat rate of $12 within Australia ($17 Express Post); international shipping is calculated at checkout. Gift cards are delivered electronically and do not require shipping.

International shipping

I ship worldwide with the exception of the UK, due to VAT regulations that came into effect on 1 January 2021. If you are in the UK you can order the UK edition of my book from your local bookshop.

Local delivery

Customers in Northcote, Thornbury and nearby suburbs (subject to capacity) can select local delivery at checkout. Local delivery is extra-slow and coincides with my pram-walking/kid-wrangling schedule, up to one week after purchase. ٩(。•́‿•̀。)۶

I choose to reuse

When shipping orders my first priority is to reuse packaging materials whenever possible – boxes, padded mailers, cardboard, paper, tissue paper, bubble wrap and egg cartons from neighbours, second-hand shops and recycling centres. I cannot guarantee the materials used to ship your order will be plastic-free for this reason.

My tags and labels are stamped by hand onto compostable paper tape or preloved cardboard packaging.

I buy recycled packaging

If I don’t have suitable second-hand packaging to use for your order, my next priority is packaging made from recycled materials. It's important to me to support Australian companies making good products from our recyclables, and to make sure that material gets a second life.

Tape

I use compostable, gummed kraft-paper tape to seal my parcels whenever possible. I have a second-hand tape wetter that I love, purchased from my local op shop. Gummed paper tape is available at most art-supply shops if you want to make the switch yourself!

Express Post orders will have official plastic "Express Post" tape added.

International orders with many items will have a plastic pocket taped to them, to accommodate additional paperwork required by customs.

Individual product packaging

Every item for sale on this website has its packaging components listed and in most cases photographed, so you can make an informed decision.

Upstream packaging

When I speak to my suppliers I specifically ask that my orders be supplied to me without plastic packaging, whenever possible, to avoid waste and single-use plastic. This isn’t always possible, but I’ll keep asking, forever.

Here's how one of my suppliers has my name recorded in its database:
