This lovely, high-quality sewing thread is made from recycled plastic bottles – a more environmentally sustainable alternative to traditional polyester sewing thread.
Because it’s made in the same production facilities with the same processes, it’s virtually indistinguishable from Gutermann non-recycled polyester thread. The colours are identical, too; when you run out of your favourite Gutermann thread, replace it with its rPET equivalent by matching the number on the top of your spool.
Top-stitching thread is thicker than all-purpose sewing thread. It’s great for jeans hems, hand-sewing buttons and buttonholes and for mending leather, backpacks and outdoor gear. Gold top stitch thread (colour 968) is the perfect colour match for decorative topstitching on most jeans, giving you a professional result if you need to alter the length.
Each spool contains 35m of thread.
- Made from recycled plastic beverage bottles, conserving resources and reducing CO2 emitted in the manufacturing process. Approximately 300m of rPET sew-all thread is produced from one PET beverage bottle.
- Fade-resistant and colourfast
- Suitable for machine sewing and hand sewing
NOTE: rPET recycled top stitch thread is hard to find and I'm one of a handful of stockists. I special-order it from Germany and supply can be irregular, so if you see your favourite colour here, snap it up while you can!
Made in Germany from 100% recycled polyester (rPET) thread on a new 100% polystyrene plastic spool. Click here to view the Gutermann rPET thread brochure.
This shop is in slow mode while I adapt to life as a new mum! Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.
I'm currently dispatching orders once a week; place your order by 5pm Thursday Melbourne time (AEDT) for dispatch the next day (Friday).
Australia Post is experiencing significant delays. If you select Express Post at checkout, it will speed up Australia Post's delivery timeframe but won't speed up my process.
After your order has been packed, you will receive an email notification with your Australia Post tracking number, which you can use to check on the delivery status of your order.
Northcote/Thornbury customers can select local delivery at checkout. Local deliveries coincide with my pram-walking schedule, usually 1-3 days after purchase. ٩(｡•́‿•̀｡)۶
For the best chance of receiving your order in time for Christmas, order by 5pm on 9 December for standard shipping, and 5pm on Thursday 16 December for Express Post and local delivery.
This shop will close for Christmas at 5pm on 16 December. Orders placed after that time will be shipped in January (exact date to be determined) when the shop reopens. The exception is gift vouchers, which are available for purchase 24/7 and delivered automagically by email!
Check Australia Post's estimated delivery deadline for your country here, then add one week for my processing time.
