Pearl/perle cotton embroidery thread is a bit special and different to the usual six-strand embroidery thread. It’s twisted and not meant to be separated, which gives it a lovely texture for visible mending – particularly noticeable with satin stitch and running stitch.
In 70+ colours, this embroidery thread is vintage as-new stock plucked from a time machine, and once it’s gone, it’s gone. It’s colourfast and suitable for embroidery, cross stitch, hand quilting and crochet. It would look sensational with Wrenbirdarts moth mending embroidery transfers. (It can be used for darning but I don’t recommend it, as the twist makes the thread like tiny rope, which doesn’t expand and fill gaps when darning, giving you a more open weave.)
