This adjustable seat stand makes mending with an embroidery hoop easier and more comfortable, allowing you to use both hands while you work.
Embroidery hoops keep fabric smooth and taut, to help you achieve better tension when stitching, darning and patching. This seat stand clamps an embroidery hoop in place at the angle and position of your choice, so both hands are free to mend.
It can be used as a tabletop stand but is designed as a seat stand – sit with the lower base tucked under your legs.
The stand is height-adjustable from 32cm to 48cm. It has a hoop-holding knuckle joint that pivots to any angle – I often use it like a hinge, to regularly check the back of my work when darning.
The stand will hold many sizes of embroidery hoop: typically 100mm to 310mm diameter and up to and including 16mm deep. The hoop can either be clamped top to bottom or from the inside to the outside with the screw tightening down on the outer side of the hoop.
This stand does not include a hoop; those shown here are for illustration purposes only. Purchase Nurge embroidery hoops here.
Made in Turkey from polished beechwood (bottom half) and wood-like plastic (top half) with metal fittings, packaged in a cardboard box with no filler materials.

Slow mode
This shop is in slow mode so I can enjoy a better work-life integration as a shop owner and mum of two tiny tots. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.
I'm currently dispatching orders once a week; place your order by 5pm Thursday Melbourne time (AEST) for dispatch the next day (Friday).
Australia Post has been experiencing significant delays. If you select Express Post at checkout, it will speed up Australia Post's delivery timeframe but won't speed up my process.
After your order has been packed, you will receive an email notification with your Australia Post tracking number, which you can use to check on the delivery status of your order.
Local delivery
Customers in Northcote, Thornbury and nearby suburbs (subject to capacity) can select local delivery at checkout. Local delivery is extra-slow and coincides with my pram-walking/kid-wrangling schedule, up to one week after purchase. ٩(。•́‿•̀。)۶
