Transform your mending kit from messy to magazine-worthy with these gorgeous, vintage-style thread cards from Maison Sajou in France.
Now you can get organised and proudly display those odds and ends of yarn and thread that you just know will come in handy some day!
You don’t need fancy thread cards – it’s easy to make DIY bobbins – but these will definitely help with mending motivation.
The Lisieux series of thread cards features a feather motif from the 19th century, in six colours: red, sky blue, green, orange, pink and mauve.
Each card measures 5.8 x 5.8cm and is printed on both sides of 2mm thick cardboard.
Cards are packaged in cardstock boxes featuring assorted prints. Each box contains one card of each colour, but the box design will be chosen for you by lucky dip.
Use thread cards to wind and store:
- sewing thread
- skeins of sashiko thread
- skeins of embroidery thread
- scraps of knitting yarn
- crewel wool / tapestry wool
- linen thread
- second-hand yarn
- yarn salvaged from knitwear
Made in France from sturdy cardboard and packaged in cardstock. Yarn and thread not supplied.

Slow mode
This shop is in slow mode so I can do alllll the things – including running this shop and running after two tiny tots – and enjoy my life. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.
I'm currently dispatching orders once a week; place your order by 5pm Thursday Melbourne time (AEST) for dispatch by Monday.
(NOTE: I drop off most orders at my local post office on Fridays, but I'm told they don't physically leave the post office and start making their way to you until Monday.)
If you select Express Post at checkout, it will speed up Australia Post's delivery timeframe but won't speed up my process.
After your order has been packed, you will receive an email notification with your Australia Post tracking number, which you can use to check on the delivery status of your order.
Local delivery
Customers in Northcote, Thornbury and nearby suburbs (subject to capacity) can select local delivery at checkout. Local delivery is extra-slow and coincides with my pram-walking/kid-wrangling schedule, up to one week after purchase. ٩(。•́‿•̀。)۶
